Renée AMILCAR
UITP President
2023 has been an incredibly important year for UITP, with the Global Summit reaching new heights in terms of success for the association and our international membership. For this to be the occasion when I was voted into the Presidency by our members is a great personal honour for me.
Mohamed MEZGHANI
UITP Secretary General
Each year when it comes time to review our association's activities, I am always proud to see these achievements recorded. And I can tell you that the work carried out by UITP in 2023 has resulted in one of our most successful and special years so far!
Our members
With more than 1,900 members from across the globe, UITP brings together all public transport and urban mobility stakeholders.
In 2023, we worked on further expanding our global outreach, including establishing a new format of the Africa Division, and opening a new office for the Australia and New Zealand region. We also launched a new Shared Mobility Division and its two affiliated committees, On-demand Mobility and Shared Vehicles.
UITP Governance
From the Executive Board to Divisions and Committees, the UITP governance structure guarantees that the Association is managed democratically, transparently and efficiently. All bodies work together to make sure UITP addresses all topics related to sustainable urban mobility in an international context. In 2023, we hosted seven Board meetings, both in-person and online.

UITP of the future: Our shared vision
People First is a vision that walks the talk. Developed by and for the people that mean the most to us: our STAFF and our MEMBERS. Our vision puts into action a number of initiatives that do exactly what it promises – putting PEOPLE FIRST!
By focusing on enhancing the human experience of both our staff and members, we aim to create a UITP that you love to be a part of and a place where everyone thrives. In doing so we seek to ensure the financial sustainability of our organisation...so hopefully we will be around for another 135+ years!
Engaged, empowered and enthusiastic staff
Over 120 employees working across the globe.
Did you know that UITP staff members come from 27 different countries? By working in 13 locations in five continents, we are proud to bring together such a diverse and enthusiastic group of people to help us in advancing sustainable mobility for all.
In the past year, our staff organised the Global Public Transport Summit, hosted four successful regional events, delivered almost 40 key publications, and engaged with members and other stakeholders across more than 70 committees and working groups.

THE DIVERSE PANEL CHARTER
to help ensure diversity of voices in our sector
Launching the diverse panel charter
In spring 2023, we proudly unveiled the Diverse Panel Charter, reaffirming our commitment to improving diversity within the sector. As the only worldwide network to bring together all public transport stakeholders and all sustainable transport modes – and with over 1,900 members – UITP is uniquely positioned to drive forward the diversity and inclusion efforts across the public transport industry.
Since its launch, many organisations and individuals have signed up to support the organisation of diverse panels, ensuring a variety of voices from different backgrounds can be heard on panel events.
